When to use a prediction question vs. poll question

A prediction question is appropriate when there is a quantifiable answer that will be known after a period of time. That will allow the prediction cycle to complete: people use their currency to make predictions and they are judged after a period of time on whether they were right or wrong.

If you're asking a question where there is no verifiable answer, a polling question is most appropriate.

A common way to know which question type to use is what kind of words are you using in the question itself. If you're using "should" or "would" that's most likely a poll question.

You can select whether you want to ask a prediction or poll style question by checking the box during the first step of the question creation process: "does this question have a verifiable answer?"
